Biography

I am currently attending the University of Lethbridge to pursue a degree in Psychology. I spend a great deal of time working with animals, especially horses, and plan to use my schooling as a springboard into the field of animal behaviour -- likely horse training, lessons, and sales. However, I also have a strong interest in the field of educational interpretation, as I enjoy sharing knowledge with others in creative ways.

I am an avid outdoorsperson and participate in horseback riding, hiking, swimming, and mountain climbing. These activites have afforded me numerous photographic opportunities, and I have come to take as much pleasure in capturing my surroundings as I do experiencing them. Many of my landscape photos were taken in the beautiful Crowsnest Pass, where my family resides, but I find subject matter regardless of where I go.

I have now combined my love of horses and cameras into an equine photography specialty, but I am open to shooting any and all subject matter. I have done wedding photography both personally and with Litwin Photography, and I do freelance work for Lethbridge Living Magazine.

I am primarily self-taught, with my only formal instruction being two university courses in darkroom techniques for black and white film. I also belong to the Lethbridge Photography Club, which is a wonderful resource. Most of my work is digital, which I shoot with an Olympus Evolt E-500 digital SLR. In the past, I have used Olympus C-7000 and C-50 point and shoot cameras, and my Minolta X-370 is still around for film projects.
